Datenschutzerklärung – nova Weather

nova Weather zeigt die Messwerte deiner eigenen Ecowitt-Wetterstation an. Die App hat keine Benutzerkonten, keine Werbung, kein Tracking und keine Analyse- oder Absturzberichte. Es gibt keinen Server des Anbieters: Die App spricht ausschließlich mit der Ecowitt-API, an der deine Station bereits angemeldet ist.

Welche Daten die App speichert

Die folgenden Daten liegen ausschließlich lokal auf deinem Gerät, im privaten App-Speicher:

Ecowitt-Zugangsdaten – API Key, Application Key und die MAC-Adresse deiner Station. Du gibst sie selbst ein; sie stammen aus deinem Ecowitt-Konto.
Messwerte deiner Station – zuletzt abgerufene Werte, zwischengespeichert, damit Widget und Uhr auch ohne frische Verbindung etwas anzeigen.
Einstellungen – Aktualisierungsintervall des Widgets, Sprachauswahl und die im Widget gewählten Messwerte.

Diese Daten werden nicht an den Entwickler übertragen und nicht verkauft oder weitergegeben.

Welche Daten die App überträgt

An Ecowitt

Um Messwerte abzurufen, sendet die App deinen API Key, deinen Application Key und die MAC-Adresse deiner Station an https://api.ecowitt.net. Betreiber dieses Dienstes ist Ecowitt (Shenzhen Fine Offset Electronics Co., Ltd.); es handelt sich um den Dienst, bei dem deine Station registriert ist und an den sie ihre Daten ohnehin meldet. Für diese Verarbeitung gilt die Datenschutzerklärung von Ecowitt.

An deine Uhr

Wenn du die Wear-OS-App nutzt, schickt das Telefon die angezeigten Messwerte über den Wearable Data Layer der Google-Play-Dienste an deine gekoppelte Uhr. Übertragen werden nur die Messwerte selbst – nie deine Ecowitt-Zugangsdaten. Die Uhr ruft die Ecowitt-API nicht auf und speichert keine Zugangsdaten.

Berechtigungen

INTERNET und ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE – um die Ecowitt-API abzufragen.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE – damit die geplante Hintergrundaktualisierung des Widgets einen Neustart übersteht.

Die App fordert keinen Standortzugriff, keinen Kamerazugriff, keinen Zugriff auf Kontakte, Fotos oder Dateien an.

Speicherdauer und Löschung

Alle Daten bleiben so lange auf dem Gerät, bis du sie löschst. Du entfernst sie vollständig, indem du in den Android-Einstellungen unter Apps → nova Weather den Speicher leerst oder die App deinstallierst. Auf der Uhr gilt dasselbe für die dort installierte App. Ein Widerruf beim Entwickler ist nicht nötig, weil beim Entwickler nichts gespeichert wird.

Kinder

Die App richtet sich nicht an Kinder und erhebt wissentlich keine Daten von Kindern.

Änderungen an dieser Erklärung werden auf dieser Seite veröffentlicht, mit aktualisiertem Datum oben.

Privacy Policy – nova Weather

nova Weather displays readings from your own Ecowitt weather station. The app has no user accounts, no advertising, no tracking and no analytics or crash reporting. There is no developer server: the app talks only to the Ecowitt API your station is already registered with.

Data the app stores

The following data is kept on your device only, in the app's private storage:

Ecowitt credentials – API key, application key and your station's MAC address. You enter them yourself; they come from your Ecowitt account.
Station readings – the most recent values, cached so the widget and the watch can show something without a fresh connection.
Settings – widget refresh interval, language choice and the metrics selected for the widget.

None of this is sent to the developer, sold or shared.

Data the app transmits

To Ecowitt

To fetch readings, the app sends your API key, application key and station MAC address to https://api.ecowitt.net, operated by Ecowitt (Shenzhen Fine Offset Electronics Co., Ltd.) — the service your station is registered with and already reports to. That processing is covered by Ecowitt's own privacy policy.

To your watch

If you use the Wear OS app, the phone sends the displayed readings to your paired watch over the Google Play services Wearable Data Layer. Only the readings are transmitted — never your Ecowitt credentials. The watch never calls the Ecowitt API and stores no credentials.

Permissions

INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE – to query the Ecowitt API.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE – so the widget's scheduled background refresh survives a reboot.

The app requests no location, camera, contacts, photo or file access.

Retention and deletion

All data stays on the device until you remove it. Clear it completely via Android Settings → Apps → nova Weather → Clear storage, or by uninstalling the app; the same applies to the app on the watch. No request to the developer is needed, because the developer stores nothing.

Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

Changes to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated date.
